Changes in the Playing Eleven
RCB have made one change in their playing XI by replacing Nuwan Tushara with Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood.
Rajat Patidar said:
“We will bowl first. The wicket looks very tough, it has decent grass cover, and we will try to maximize the first few overs. In the last match, everyone gave more than 100%, Jitesh, Salto and Kohli were fantastic. We have made one change – Hazlewood comes in for Tushara.”
Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer has also made a change in the team. Led by Rajat Patidar, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to field first against Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 Qualifier 1 at the Maharaja Yadavinder Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
Toss Updates and Comments
RCB made one change to their playing eleven, with Josh Hazlewood replacing Nuwan Tushara.
“We would have bowled first too. If you look at the record here, the teams batting first have done well, so I am optimistic. The crowd is amazing, and you need that kind of vibration when you go on the field. It gives us a lot of energy. The way our openers have shown fearless intent and attitude is impressive,” Azulla said. “We have done well and Marco has said the same.”
PBKS Collapse and Preity Zinta’s Reaction
Punjab Kings got off to a disastrous start in their IPL 2025 Qualifier 1 clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Preity Zinta’s cheerful smile quickly faded into visible worry.
The PBKS co-owner, who was seen smiling and cheering from the stands early on, looked visibly tense as his team lost four crucial wickets in the powerplay — Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis — all dismissed in quick succession.
Initial Compact Details
The downfall started with the dismissal of Priyansh Arya. Attempting a sharp drive on Yash Dayal’s delivery, Arya hit a straight ball to Krunal Pandya at cover. It was a simple catch, and Dayal gave RCB the early breakthrough they were looking for.
